The Papa and Lola foundation set out to deliver food and slippers to children in need. They had learned about a small community where many families struggled to make ends meet. With baskets full of warm meals and bundles of slippers, they arrived to find the children huddled together, shivering in the cold. The volunteers distributed the food, and the children’s faces brightened with relief as they eagerly devoured the meals. Then, the volunteers handed out slippers, carefully fitting them onto the children’s cold, tired feet. The children, now with full stomachs and warm feet, smiled with gratitude, their laughter filling the air. The volunteers left that day knowing that their small acts of kindness, through the charity’s efforts, had brought a little warmth and hope to those in desperate need.
A mother, caring for her son with a serious eye condition, found herself overwhelmed by the challenges of securing the medical care he needed. When the Papa and Lola Foundation learned about their situation, they quickly offered their support, providing the financial assistance required for his treatments and eye care.

GLIMPSE OF CHRISTMAS IN THE REMOTE AREA OF MATI, DAVAO ORIENTAL
On Christmas Day, Papa and Lola Foundation embarked on a long journey to a remote village where the holiday season had barely been felt. The villagers, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city, had little to celebrate, with many struggling to afford basic necessities. As the volunteers arrived with boxes of food, and small gifts, the villagers gathered, their faces lighting up with surprise and gratitude. The children’s laughter echoed through the village as they opened their presents, while the adults shared stories over the hearty meals. That Christmas, the simple act of giving brought a sense of joy and warmth to a place that had so often been forgotten, reminding everyone that kindness and generosity could bridge even the greatest distances.

Papa and Lola foundation arrived at a local school with boxes full of food and slippers, eager to bring some comfort to the students. The Papa and Lola Foundation is back at it again, making a difference in the lives of those in need. On May 25, 2024, we reached out to a resident from Purok Kalinisan, Magsaysay 17-1, Brgy. Central, Mati City. Despite facing special challenges, this individual’s spirit remains unbroken.
